She did it. Margaret ran the Chicago Marathon this past Sunday (10.10.10).
Even in the midst of less-than-desirable conditions, she ran a 3h15m!! What does this mean?
- She finished in the top 1% of females
- She finished in the top 4% of all runners
- She averaged about a 7:15 minute mile for the first 17 miles, and 8:30 minute miles for the last 9 miles.
- She’s stinking awesome!
Way to go, babe!
As you can tell by the picture, we were also blessed to have our families not only pay for our trip to Chicago but also join us! We all had a great time together, dividing and conquering the city to see her at different mile-markers, wearing matching “Go Margaret Go” t-shirts, and telling wild taxi drivers that we were from Australia, where killing kangaroos is illegal…Bill.

We are about to leave for Chicago.
Margaret will be running her 4th marathon, and the whole family will be there to support and watch…and confirm that she’s crazy. We’re all proud of her dedication and determination; even in the midst of a challenging semester at school, she still put in the miles to train, and we can’t wait to see it all pay off!

Please be praying for our travel, for Margaret’s health before, during, and after the race, and that God would be made much of through this experience.
